Donald Trump seems to have some bad blood with Taylor Swift.
Shortly after the 14-time Grammy winner endorsed Democratic candidate Vice President Kamala Harris, the former President shared his thoughts about her announcement by comparing her to "big Trump fan" Brittany Mahomes.
"Well I actually like Mrs. Mahomes much better," Trump said on Fox News Sept. 11. "If you want to know the truth. She's a big Trump fan. I was not a Taylor Swift fan. It was just a question of time. You couldn't possibly endorse [Joe] Biden. But she's a very liberal person. She seems to always endorse a Democrat and she'll probably pay a price for it in the marketplace."
"But I like Brittany," he continued. "I think Brittany is great. She's a big MAGA fan. She's the one I like much better than Taylor Swift. Wife of the great quarterback. I think she's terrific."
After the Sept. 10 debate between Harris and Trump, Swift broke her silence about the upcoming presidential election with a photo of herself holding her cat—a reference to Trump's running mate J.D. Vance's infamous quote about "childless cat ladies"—alongside a lengthy Instagram caption.
"Like many of you, I watched the debate tonight," she began. "If you haven't already, now is a great time to do your research on the issues at hand and the stances these candidates take on the topics that matter to you the most. As a voter, I make sure to watch and read everything I can about their proposed policies and plans for this country."
The 34-year-old went on to address the recent AI images of herself "falsely endorsing Donald Trump's presidential run" and her fears surrounding AI and "the dangers of spreading misinformation."
"It brought me to the conclusion that I need to be very transparent about my actual plans for this election as a voter," Swift continued. "The simplest way to combat misinformation is with the truth. I will be casting my vote for Kamala Harris and Tim Walz in the 2024 Presidential Election."
Meanwhile, Mahomes—who is married to Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes—hasn't addressed Trump's comments, though she has recently addressed her critics with a cryptic message about "differing views."
"Contrary to the tone of the world today," she wrote. "You can disagree with someone, and still love them."
For his part, Trump expressed his gratitude for the Sports Illustrated swimsuit model on his social media site Truth Social days after, "I want to thank beautiful Brittany Mahomes for so strongly defending me
